Loneliness Awareness Week is a reminder that something many of us feel privately is, in fact, quietly shared by millions. It doesn’t discriminate – it shows up in the busiest lives and the quietest ones. And naming it, talking about it, is where the turning point begins.
That’s why I’m so delighted to be collaborating with the wonderful Sarah Cook – Ceramic Artist, Community Connector and Founder of Project 100 Hearts – and the brilliant Marmalade Trust for a very special free event this June.
Join Us: Thursday 18th June, Greenway Centre, Southmead
We’re hosting two sessions on the day – 10am–12pm and 1.30–3pm – and everyone is welcome to come along for all or part of either.
Sarah will be offering her heartfelt ceramic art and community connection work from 10am, with free ceramic hearts available for anyone who would like one. I’ll be joining from 1.30pm as a TEDx Speaker, Author and Happiness and Performance Coach, bringing tools and conversations to help you feel a little more connected – to yourself and to others.
My little book, The Hound of Happiness: 52 Ways to Feel Good, will be there too – full of simple, warm ideas for feeling better, one small step at a time.
Why connection matters
In my 20 years of coaching – with everyone from Team GB athletes to people navigating grief, illness and big life transitions, one thing stands out above almost everything else: the power of feeling seen and heard. Connection is one of our most fundamental human needs, and when it’s missing, everything feels harder.
Come and say hello. Bring a friend, or come on your own. All are welcome.
