So…. conversation, ‘It’s a shame we have one bike spare… only 9 of us doing the Spinathon…’
Me, ‘Ah sure you can find someone?’ Them…. ‘No, it’s a bit late, it’s for 12 hours…’.
Me in my head, ‘You could fill that seat, it’s for charity, go on…… me.. ‘I could do it…’
And that’s the extent of it. At 7am I’ll be sat on my bike that’s not been out of the shed since Weily land appeared, it has some mould on the handlebars, and you may think I’m crazy.

But why…. Why am I doing it….?
1. What Sport Relief does is amazing, and I want to help make a tiny difference, that’s the biggest reason and value http://www.sportrelief.com/
2. If Davina MaCall can do a 500mile gruelling challenge in the most crazy weather & Nick Grimshaw from BBCR1 can do a 12hr bike, I can, gently and consistently do this I believe
3. My amazing client Tina Hansen has lost a huge amount of weight and is doing a 24hr Challenge in pairs at David Lloyd, Westbury in Bristol. She is an inspiration to anyone, and really does show anything is possible. Tina, I am proud of you, and you inspire me, I am with you on your ride, powers to you. Respect.
4. I get scared about my Weily Encephalitis moments, but everyone has something that scares them and I don’t want it to define me, I want to be brave and learn how to move forwards with it… and yes I am nervous and do wonder if this is sensible but see point 12!
5. It’s inside, so whilst my balance isn’t great, you can’t fall off inside, right?!
6. My bike is very excited to come out of the shed, and get some action 🙂
7. It’s the Spring Equinox, so a great time for change and letting go of limitations, fine tuning goals. pretty sure 12hrs will sort that out….
8. I get to ride with some amazing talented athletes and meet some new people, have fun, laugh, stretch boundaries and see what happens… I’ll probably cry & shake at some point with the condition, but hopefully no one will notice!
9. It’s Energised 10th Birthday & I have a couple of challenges lined up, this adds to our fundraising celebrations, hopefully we can hit £40k by our Birthday on 4th May, as a thank you to all my clients
10. I have never done one Sufferfest Video so no idea what this is all about…… anyone care to share? I’ve a feeling best not to know…
11. I’m probably crazy, just not sure if it’s from the Weils or just being me 🙂 I’ll know tomorrow…
12. It just felt like the right thing to do, no logical reason available and I wouldn’t really professional advice it, but slowly, slowly, gently gently…. to 7pm.
13. I just feel grateful every day that I am okay & blessed to be able to do things, work with amazing people and live life… if this helps someone else feel that, then yippee, I’ll do my best, be that 12 hrs or whatever my body likes….
So if you are passing Bike Science Bristol (7-7), please pop in and say hello, I would LOVE to see you and so would the Team. I have a Sport Relief Onsie, I’m not sure how long I will be in it… underneath is my Sweaty Betty & Shock Absorber kit naturally!
Big Thank you to my two clients who have moved their appointments, Amanda & Dee. Thank you, I really appreciate it and meant that you can come down and chat for an hour’s coaching! And to A.K.A Hair & Ellie moving my appointment, clearly I will need sorting out after 🙂
