RED January helps us to get moving, here’s why

RED January 2023 is a nationwide movement for mental wellbeing, helping thousands of people to start the year on a positive note by beating the winter blues with daily exercise. The movement also raises funds to help the UK mental health sports charity Sport in Mind reach and support others.

Even if you have just found this blog, you can begin moving today, and I am here to support you.

In the words of RED January founder, Hannah:

It all began with a special mum and daughter story. After witnessing the positive impact that regular physical activity had on my mum’s mental wellbeing, especially in the winter, I was inspired to put something in place that would give my mum, and all of us, a motivation to move at a time of year where evidence shows that we’re less active as a nation.

Eight years on and over 250,000 people have kick started their year with RED January. Together, we can reach and inspire more people to move for their mental wellbeing.

Find out more about how you can get involved here. You can also follow Red January on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
